Determine your size for laundry sinks

The Flex P-trap can be used in all situations under the sink as a p-trap and as a connecting tube between parts. Because of this, you have to determine the size (length of tube) or cut the tube yourself. The tolerance for measurement is ±0.5 inches.

  1.  First, you have to choose one position from Fig.43 - Fig.45
  2.  Second, you have to measure dimension JK or A, H, G.
  3.  Third, you choose length L from bottom drawing and measurement.

1.The drain in the wall - Flex P-trap Full

H- length of tailpiece (1.50 inches outside diameter).

 A- distance from bottom of sink to drain (1.50 inches inside diameter).

 G-distance from tailpiece to wall in plan of U shape of p-trap

See the Fig.33A G=8-10 inches

G=10--14 inches

       Fig. 43 (video)

For A-H=0 G=14

 L=20 inches—Flex p-trap, 3-4 inches water seal E=3-0 inches left, right

 L=22 inches—Flex p-trap, 4-5 inches water seal E=4-0 inches left, right

 L=24 inches—Flex p-trap, 5-6 inches water seal E=5-0 inches left, right

 Lmax= 24 inches—Flex p-trap, over 4 inches deep

If you move the end of the p-trap to the right, left or down the water seal will decrease, but if you move it up the water seal will increase.

Adapter can be used over 16 inches length.

 Measurement

 Our converter formula was specially designed to make you figure out your job a lot easier. Measure distance JK in space and length of Flex p-trap will be:

 L=JK+10”

 J—end of tailpiece

 K—bottom of drain

2. The drain in the wall  CP-trap

           See the Fig.34A

CP- connector tube with p-trap

G=4—14 inches E=0-4

 E--eccentricity

 H—length of tailpiece

 For G=4—10 inches, see the bathroom sink

 For G=14 inches and E=0

 Lmin = G+6=20 inches

          Fig. 44 (video 23A, video 23B)

For H-A=2  G=14

L=20 inches—Flex p-trap, 3-4 inches water seal E=3-0 inches left, right

L=22 inches—Flex p-trap, 4-5 inches water seal E=4-0 inches left, right

L=24 inches—Flex p-trap, 4-5 inches water seal E=4-0 inches left, right

Adapter can be optional.

Measurement

Our converter formula was specially designed to make you figure out your job a lot easier. Measurethe distance JK in space and the length of Flex p-trap will be:

L=JK+8”

J—end of tailpiece

K—bottom of drain

 3. The drain in the floor - SP-trap

              See the Fig.35

         Fig. 45 (video 24)

SP-trap (s-trap with p-trap)

G=4--14 inches

Ex= extension (distance between two adaptors)

L=Ex+(A-H)+16

For Ex=0  A-H=0    Gmin=8

Ex=G-8   over Gmin=8 inches you need to add extension

Smin=3 inches, water seal

For A-H=0  G=14

G=14   L=26

Ex=6

In order to eliminate the siphoning, the minimum extension has to be Ex=2Dia=2.5
